Pilot3D is an advisory situational-awareness aid for pilots — a 3-D airspace, terrain and traffic display. It is not a certified navigation system and must not be used as a primary means of navigation, terrain avoidance, or airspace clearance. The pilot in command is solely responsible for the safe and legal operation of the aircraft; always rely on official charts, current NOTAMs, ATC, and certified aircraft instruments. Use of this app is entirely at your own risk, and its developer accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury, or violation arising from its use.
You can sign in with Google, with Apple, or with your e-mail address and a one-time code. Either way Pilot3D receives only your e-mail address (with Apple, the address you choose to share, which may be a private relay address) and uses it only to:
Pilot3D also counts a few anonymous usage events (simulator started, GPS turned on, tutorial finished, share tapped, a referral link landing) through Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. No e-mail address and no position is sent with them.
If you sign in by e-mail, the 8-digit code is sent through our e-mail provider, Resend; the code expires after 10 minutes, can be used once, and is not stored by us.
We do not receive or store your Google password, contacts, or any Google data beyond that one email address. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with data brokers.
When you choose GPS mode, Pilot3D reads your device's location to compute your aircraft's position on the display. That position is used on your device to look up nearby airspace, airports, terrain and traffic from public aviation data sources (the FAA's own open-data services, OurAirports, and public ADS-B aggregators), relayed through our own backend only to keep those requests reliable — it is not logged or stored against your identity anywhere on our servers. In Simulator mode, no real location is used at all.
Pilot3D is free and takes no payments.
Flight data, offline map/airspace caches, and app settings are stored locally in your browser (localStorage and IndexedDB) so the app can work offline. This data is never uploaded to our servers and is removed if you clear your browser's site data or uninstall the app.
Our backend is a small relay: it verifies sign-ins with Google, proxies traffic/NOTAM lookups to public aviation data sources, and serves the app's files. Apart from the account list above it keeps no user data and no flight history. Ordinary web server logs (IP address, requested path, timestamp) are retained briefly by our hosting provider, Vercel, for operational and security purposes, per Vercel's own privacy policy.
On Safari (iPhone, iPad and Mac) the app may send a short technical report during the first 30 seconds of a launch: the browser version, screen size, and any loading or script errors. It contains no account, e-mail or location data, is written only to our hosting provider's short-lived logs, and is used only to fix problems that appear on those devices.
By using Pilot3D you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Pilot3D is a supplemental situational-awareness tool. It is not approved, certified or authorized by the FAA or any other authority, and must not be used as a primary means of navigation, terrain or obstacle avoidance, traffic avoidance, or airspace clearance. Always use current official charts, NOTAMs, TFRs, ATC instructions and certified aircraft instruments. The pilot in command remains solely responsible for the safe and legal conduct of every flight.
Airspace, airports, frequencies, NOTAMs, TFRs, terrain, obstacles, traffic and imagery come from public and third-party sources (including the FAA, OurAirports, public ADS-B aggregators, Cesium and Esri). They may be incomplete, out of date, delayed or wrong, and the app may simplify or approximate them. Traffic shown is not all traffic. Alerts may come late, early or not at all. Never rely on the absence of an alert or a shape on screen.
Pilot3D is a public beta and is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Features may change or be removed, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued at any time.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pilot3D and its developer are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss of life, property damage, enforcement action, or loss of data or profits, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Pilot3D in the 12 months before the claim.
Pilot3D is free. Nothing is charged, and no payment details are ever asked for. If paid features are ever offered, they will be announced first and nothing will be charged without your own explicit purchase.
Do not misuse the service: no automated scraping or bulk downloading, no attempts to break, overload or get around its security or limits, and no reselling or re-hosting of the app or its data. We may suspend access that does.
The Pilot3D app, design and code are owned by Pilot3d.app. FAA charts and data are public; third-party imagery, terrain and data remain the property of their providers and are shown under their own terms and attributions.
You are given a personal, non-transferable right to use the app as it is served to you. You may not copy, download for reuse, modify, translate, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer or extract the app's code, design or data (except where the law expressly allows it), create derivative or competing works from them, or remove any copyright or ownership notice. The fact that a web browser receives the app's code in order to run it does not grant any right to copy or reuse that code.
Pilot3D runs only at pilot3d.app. Its code carries identifying marks, so a copy can be traced to it. Copies hosted anywhere else infringe our copyright and will be reported to their host for removal under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and the equivalent laws of other countries. To report a copy, write to the contact address below.
We may update these terms; the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use Pilot3D after a change means you accept it.
Pilot3D is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
